I have so many unfinished series on my TBR – ones that I’ve read the first book of, and then gathered the rest to read eventually, but haven’t gotten back to them yet. When I read A Darker Shade of Magic recently, I knew that this series would be one I’d be devouring quickly, and I wasn’t wrong. A Gathering of Shadows and A Conjuring of Light follow the struggle of Kell, magician and traveller from Red London, as he struggles with the competing pressures of balancing magic, saving his world, protecting his brother and following his heart. This series is sensational – if you’re after a detailed and interesting fantasy with a complex magical system and some flawed but fascinating characters, I’d check out this series by @veschwab. She’s rapidly becoming one of my favourite author finds of recent months.
